Bs04 legionella safety

% · extracted · landlord-year

This is the share of a council's homes covered by an up-to-date water safety (legionella) risk assessment. Legionella bacteria in water systems can cause a serious form of pneumonia, so landlords must assess and manage the risk. A figure at or near 100% means the checks are being done; a lower figure means some tenants' water systems haven't had their safety confirmed.

missingnessStock-transfer (LSVT) councils are absent — they own no stock, so absence is structural, not missing data. Only large landlords (1,000+ social homes) report; Files 05/06 list excluded landlords. CH01/CH02 also have `_LCHO`/`_COMB` variants in File 04 — landlords reporting combined tenures carry values in the `_COMB` columns, so check variants before treating a value as missing.
score_noteLegionella assessment compliance; adds little beyond the BS family pattern.
peer_groupregistered landlords (RSH-regulated, 1,000+ homes) — not yet scored on the leaderboard

Legionella risk assessments

Percentage of homes for which all required legionella risk assessments have been carried out (BS04, File 04). Compliance measure; expected near 100%. Numerator and denominator columns are present in File 04, so the rate can be recomputed or re-based.
