This is the share of a council's passenger lifts that have had their required safety inspection. Faulty lifts can trap or injure people, and for many older or disabled tenants a broken lift means being stuck at home. A figure at or near 100% means lifts are being inspected on schedule; a lower figure means some lifts are running without a current safety check.
