This is how much money the council spends on repairs and maintenance each year, divided by the number of homes it owns. It shows how much is actually being invested in keeping each home in good condition. Higher spend can mean a landlord investing properly in its stock — or one with older homes that cost more to keep up; very low spend alongside poor repairs results suggests under-investment.

| source | HRA "Repairs and maintenance" net expenditure (`RO4-hraexprepair-net-tot-cst`, £000 ×1000, from `../01-revenue-outturn/data/RO4_LA_Data_2024-25_data_by_LA.ods`) `/ RP01_Denominator` (File 04); LA rows only, joined council name ↔ `ProviderName` |
| period | 2024/25 (year to 31 March 2025) |
| missingness | Stock-transfer (LSVT) councils are absent — they own no stock, so absence is structural, not missing data. Only large landlords (1,000+ social homes) report; Files 05/06 list excluded landlords. Cross-dataset name join: RO4 uses council names/ONS codes while TSM uses RSH `ProviderNumber` — join by cleaned council name and check joint entities manually. Only councils with an HRA and retained stock can have this value. |
| score_note | Only cost-side variable here; pairs spend with TSM outcomes for value-for-money. |
| peer_group | registered landlords (RSH-regulated, 1,000+ homes) — not yet scored on the leaderboard |
Repairs and maintenance spend per council home per year, from HRA revenue outturn divided by TSM stock. Pair with tsm_repairs_satisfaction and RP02 for a value-for-money read on the repairs service. LA landlords only.
